Service providers

In addition to the Western Queensland Justice Network lawyer, the following legal services are available through the network:

Legal Aid Queensland

Legal Aid Queensland is a statutory authority that provides legal assistance to financially and socially disadvantaged Queenslanders.

We provide three core services – information, advice and representation – in family, civil and criminal law matters.

Some of our services include: a duty lawyer service in Magistrate and Children's courts throughout the State; dispute resolution through our Conferencing Program in family and civil law matters; and a host of specialist legal services, including Youth Legal Aid, the Victims of Crime Compensation Unit, the Farm and Rural Legal Service and our Domestic Violence Unit.

To access our services, you can call us on 1300 65 11 88 for the cost of a local call anywhere in Queensland.

You can also access our comprehensive legal information database on our website: www.legalaid.qld.gov.au. This has been specifically set up as a community resource. It contains specialised legal information on such topics as parenting arrangements in a family dispute, child support issues, residential matters, neighbourhood disputes, criminal appeals, and the payment of fines.
